It's nothing to get too upset about. Being an entrepreneur in online marketing gives you more freedom and the ability to grow when you need to.
When I first started working online, I sold short reports in.txt format. Then I moved on to books in print. I then tried software, ebooks, member sites, affiliate marketing, and even designing and running a blog. The point is that there are many ways to make money in every niche. You just have to try them out to figure out which ones work best for you.
When you find one that you like and that consistently makes you money, keep it and add another. After a few years, you'll probably have a few steady-paying jobs that you like. You'll be a successful entrepreneur!
